Step 1. Define a 3D Model
You can define a 3D model by designing an object using a CAD tool such as Google Sketchup, Autocad, Solidworks, etc. In addition, you can find inspiration from designers that provide their models on the internet. Save your model in a 3D printing file format (.stl, .obj, etc.).
Step 2. Upload Your 3D Model
Upload your 3D model to our server and obtain a quote within 24 hours – usually same day! We will carefully review your project in the following 24 hours and optimize printing parameters so we can ensure you get the highest quality prints.
Step 3. Process Validation
We will slice your model using a tool such as SLIC3R, CURA, or SKEINFORGE, and calculate the print volume, total material, labor, etc. to determine your order total. Once we determine the printability of your part and the orientation at which we will print it, your quote will be sent back to you with a PayPal Payment Link and any further information about the printing process and purchasing.
Step 4. 3D Printing at ALT
Once you have paid for your part, we will begin printing your object. We will send you updates throughout the print process and if there are any issues, we will inform you right away. If a problem cannot be addressed without changing your model, we will cancel your order, send you an email detailing what went wrong, and refund 100% of your money. We will work with you to make any necessary adjustments and get your print going again as quickly as possible.
Step 5. Shipping
Pick-up your part at the ALT offices located at 2062 Alameda Padre Serra Suite 101 on the beautiful American Riviera in Santa Barbara or have your parts shipped right to your door.
